Vitality Mile to take place at Hatfield Park on Sunday 11 July 2021
26 May 2021, 14:00 p.m.
London Marathon Events (LME) today announced that the Vitality Mile will take place at Hatfield Park, Hertfordshire, on the afternoon of Sunday 11 July, preceded by the Vitality London 10,000 in the morning.
The events were originally scheduled to be held in central London on the late May Bank Holiday weekend but were cancelled on 31 March due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then LME has been working to find an alternative date and venue.
The Vitality Mile will comprise a series of eight races over the one-mile distance. The first Vitality Mile, for adults (looking for a fast time), will take place at 14:00 and the following races will be for participants of all ages and abilities with the final race starting at 16:15. Parents and carers are welcome to carry or push children.
Participants in the 10K event will be offered the choice of two races with socially distanced or non-socially distanced starts.
Hugh Brasher, Event Director for LME, said: “We are delighted that it has been possible to stage the Vitality Mile and Vitality London 10,000 at Hatfield Park on Sunday 11 July and would like to thank Vitality, Hatfield Park and our other partners for their support.
“It is so important to stage these events as we come out of lockdown. We all know how important exercise and events are for both mental and physical health and we were determined to put on these wonderful events that have done so much to inspire activity over the last seven years.”
Everyone who had entered the central London events will be offered a priority window to transfer their entry to the Hatfield Park event, defer their entry to 2022 or receive a full refund of the entry fee they paid.
General entries will then go on sale on Tuesday 1 June.
The entry fee for the Vitality Mile is £8 for adults and £6 for children aged 12 to 17. Entry is free for children aged under 12 on 11 July. All finishers will receive the official finisher medal.
